ZHD520R - ZULUS HD 5-20X Digital Night Vision Scope with Laser Rangefinder and Ballistic Calculator

Firstly I need to state I’m not being paid or getting any freebie’s from Arken to leave this review.
As a long time user of night vision scopes I have always used the Pard range and found that they do the job well, but.. the new Arken zulus is a brilliant bit of kit where the pro’s massively outweigh the cons.
The device is small light, compact and well built, the menu system is straightforward and easy to use which is packed with many features that most users will not need or even use, but they are there if you want or need to use them. The ballistic calculator once set up correctly works extremely well, “one of the best I’ve used”. The screen resolution is fantastic in both day and night mode even if you use the standard IR torch that’s built in and can be removed or upgraded to the 900+ version or with your own secondary IR torch which will make the replaceable battery last longer. There’s even the option to plug a power bank into the device that will give you hours and hours of continuous use. The mount that is supplied is solid and stable and holds its zero if you use the scope on different guns which you can as there are over 20 profiles that you can set up for different rifles.
The apps from Arken also work very well. You can stream save and record footage directly to you phone or tablet and the ballistic app allows you set up the scope remotely and save the settings for you to use on different guns
Finally for the pros. You can buy directly from Arken and save yourself from the middle man giving you all the hype and waffle down at the local gun shop. I ordered mine at 10 pm on a Sunday night a week before Christmas and it was in my hands on the Thursday. Cant complain about that.
Personally I only have some small cons against the scope
1st. I found the base magnification of x5 a little too strong at close range, but there is a new scope coming out with a lower base magnification that should be better when operating at close range.
2nd. Now only time will tell with this one, but my concern is the symbols on the buttons. Will they rub off with constant use as the old pards suffer with.
So. Would I recommend the scope for the price?
Hell, yes I would. Myself as a long time user of the Pard scopes has been converted and would highly recommend the Arken zulus scope.

Ventured into the world of day/night scopes with LRF & BC worried about the complexity of setting them up, needn't have worried! Was relatively straightforward process and my goodness the results were outstanding. Couldn't be happier with my investment in this scope, so much so I've ordered the new version already! Brilliant pieces of kit and unbelievable value for money, well done Arken.

This scope is my first step into a digital and night vision scope and i must say I'm glad i bought it. Previously I was using a vector veyron but I must say the Zulus is amazing, packed with many useful features for hunting. The built in LRF is great and saves me having to carry an extra item and then the ballistic calculator tops it off almost feels like cheating when it tells me where to aim. Camera quality being HD is great as well

This is a bloody good scope for the money. Beautifully clear picture day or night. Easy to use apps, online video's fill in the gaps. The ballistic calculator is spot on, nice clear adjustment indicator. My rifle is accurate out to 75m, I was hitting a 1" group just over 100m. The IR on the first click is all I needed to do 150m. Works on a battery pack through the supplied lead so extends your night with no need to change batteries. Picture is nice on all magnifications, not used the record feature yet so can't comment on that. I got this because I wanted the ballistic part but can't afford a new thermal, more than glad I did.

Found it simple enough to zero this but I wish Arken optics and all nv manufacturers would put out a step by step instruction video that would be amazing thank you yours Mr Neil Carrington
